As a result, the unit allows for smooth, zero-play linear movement across desktop and maker-style CNC machines.

The component is machined from 6063-T6 aluminium with a black anodised, brushed finish to maintain rigidity within a framework assembly. Featuring an overall thickness of 9mm, the block matches standard 9mm spacers to simplify wheel height configurations. Additionally, the plate incorporates eight pre-tapped M5 threaded holes, allowing technical users to mount low-profile or button-head screws in multiple directional layouts.

Applications

Engineers and builders utilize the Wheel Block to replace traditional eccentric hardware assemblies on hobbyist or open-source CNC routers. Specifically, the plate mounts directly onto standard framework components, including 20mm gantry plates, 100mm gantry plates, and V-slot gantry plates. By sliding and locking within the integrated tracks, it establishes a configurable wheel mount that guides a machine’s dynamic gantry along aluminium rails.

Furthermore, the three built-in 5mm × 12mm (7mm centred) adjustment slots provide up to 7mm of physical travel. Because of this adaptation range, builders can mix and match varying hardware sizes, such as mounting Mini V-Wheels directly onto standard-sized gantry plates. To assemble a complete linear tracking system, installers typically pass standard M5 low-profile screws through the wheels and torque them into the tapped holes of the block once the tracking tension is correctly aligned.
