Description
Technical Overview
The 2 Hole Joining Strip – 30 Series M6 is a flat aluminium joining plate for spanning and reinforcing butt joints between two 30 Series T-slot aluminium extrusion profiles along the same axis. This joining strip bridges the joint interface and slides into the T-slot channel on the outer face of the profiles, clamping with M6 bolts through the two bolt holes to draw the strip plate tight against both profiles simultaneously. The result is a low-profile surface-mounted reinforcement that holds the joint in alignment and prevents relative movement of the two profile ends.
The two-hole format suits short-span joints or locations with limited space along the profile face. The aluminium construction provides adequate tensile stiffness to resist joint opening under axial load, complementing the internal connection of inline connectors or profile end caps.
Applications
The 2 Hole Joining Strip – 30 Series M6 is used to reinforce straight inline joints in 30 Series T-slot extrusion builds where two profiles meet end-to-end. Secure with M6 cap head bolts. Applications include spliced frame runs on machine beds and worktables, extension joints in gantry structures, modular frame builds that require dismantling for transport, and any 30 Series frame assembly where external reinforcement is needed across a profile splice on one or more slot faces.
For joints under bending load, pair with the 180 Degree Inside Corner Connector – 30 Series, M6 for internal retention, and apply strip plates on two opposing slot faces. Also use Sliding T-Nut – 30 Series, 10 Pack for tool-free T-nut loading before positioning the plate.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
- Apply the strip plate to the outer face of the joint before inserting T-nuts into the slot, as the plate must be positioned over the joint line with one bolt hole above each profile.
- For maximum joint stiffness, apply strip plates on two opposing faces of the profile cross-section rather than just one face.
- The 2-hole strip plate bridges a shorter span – confirm the plate length reaches at least 20mm into each of the two profiles being joined.
- Pair with a 180-degree inside connector for a fully retained joint that resists both axial separation and surface-parallel movement.
- Tighten both M6 bolts evenly in alternating passes to seat the plate flush before final torque.
