What is V-Slot C-Beam HEAVY – 20 Series?

V-Slot C-Beam HEAVY – 20 Series is a versatile profile that is based on the widely used V Slot linear guide system. Its square shape gives it extra strength and functionality. All standard V Slot parts and accessories are compatible as it is a part of the V Slot line. It comes in three different lengths: 1000mm, 1500mm, and 3000mm.

This upgraded version of the C-Beam Linear Rail has a wall thickness 2.7 times that of the regular version. It was designed in-house by the Maker Store team for use in heavy-duty applications such as CNC machines, framing, and heavy-duty actuators. These high-precision linear rails are based on the open-source C-Beam Linear Rail by Openbuilds.

The increased wall thickness has resulted in a 72% increase in strength, while only adding 60% to the weight of the standard C-Beam. This makes C-Beam HEAVY ideal for weight-critical applications with its great weight to strength ratio.

Tapping for V-Slot C-Beam HEAVY Extrusions

Tapping is the process of using a tool called a tap to create threads inside a hole by carving precise grooves. This enables screws or bolts to securely attach to the ends of the extrusion.

Our 3050mm extrusions come standard with an M5x0.8mm 10mm deep tap, If you’re opting to cut the extrusion, you may benefit from our optional tapping service. To use this, please leave a note in the order notes stating your required cuts and if you need tapping, we will reach out.
