Description
The ACRO CNC was originally designed by OpenBuilds USA and shared Open Source under the CC BY-SA 4.0. The Maker Store ACRO system is based on the original design however there are some small differences, most noticeably the V-Slot comes pre-tapped eliminating the need for tapping the extrusion during the assembly. The ACRO CNC is suitable for mounting a 5-20W Blue Light Lasers. The ACRO system can easily be adapted to be almost any size imagined due to its effective modular design. Featuring light weight plates made from precision cut acrylic to ensure the entire machine weight is kept to a minimum.
Please note this listing is for the mechanical kit including stepper motors. Lasers and other electronics are not included.
What is the ACRO?
The ACRO was designed by OpenBuilds USA as a light weight and fast laser CNC machine suitable for hobby applications. The OpenBuilds ACRO was developed to be the most accurate and cost effective system in its class. The ACRO System incorporates the modular V-Slot system and, therefore, has the unique ability to expand to multiple sizes creating a size configuration custom to your needs.
What can you do with the ACRO system?
The ACRO system is originally designed to be a Laser CNC platform suitable for Blue Light Lasers between 5-20W. With some small modifications the ACRO can also be used as a drawing machine by mounting a marker or fountain pen to the gantry.
