Description
This powerful Stepper Motor Driver – S109 V1.1 shares the same Toshiba built-in chip as the TB67S109 Stepper motors. It comes equipped with a large heatsink with an adhesive, ready to be placed on the board and a TB67S109AFTG Japanese chip which assures quality and reliability.
This driver features a potentiometer to adjust the motor current setting and error detections such as thermal shutdown, over-current shutdown and power-on reset. It operates in a range of 9 – 50V and for the logic supply is 3 – 5.5V, so you can use 3.3V MCU’s or 5.5V MCU’s. Rated for up to 4A (maximum), which is suitable for all NEMA17 and most NEMA23 stepper motors.

Microstep Settings:
| Pin Name | Standby Mode | 1 | 1/2 (A) | 1/4 | 1/2 (B) | 1/8 | 1/16 | 1/32 |
| MS1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| MS2 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 |
| MS3 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
Pro Tips:
-
- Ensure that you add a cooling system to avoid the high temperatures
- When you are placing the heatsink make sure it isn’t touching any of the board’s pins
- In the act of plugging and unplugging the board, the power supply must be off
- Due to its high-temperature operation, do not touch the board/heatsink
Please note: These drivers are actually more powerful than the CNC Shield V3 tracks can handle! An external board suitable for 4A current is required to use this driver at full capacity.
