The SmartPendant is an MPG (Manual Pulse Generator) device that can be connected to the E5X MCS CNC Controller and operate your machine precisely. It allows you to jog the machine into position, probe, or run small G-code files on devices like the E5X MCS without needing a computer. Its rugged design and simple interface enable faster project setup.
An MPG is typically a pendant with a rotary encoder used to perform manual tasks on a CNC machine. It allows for unrestricted movement around the machine and offers a more intuitive and accurate approach to jogging through natural hand movement.
The original SmartPendant by Devtronic LLC was designed to control CNC controllers such as the E5X MCS. Maker Store’s version includes modifications like a strengthened bezel design, a convenient hook for hanging, and other adjustments.

Easy-Navigate Buttons
The SmartPendant features 7 ergonomic and easy-to-navigate buttons that streamline your control experience:
- Power and Navigation: This button lets you turn the pendant ON and OFF.
- Upper Buttons: The two upper buttons are designed to navigate between the main menus. The left button takes you to the previous main menu, while the right button moves you to the next main menu.
- Middle Buttons: The side buttons provide intuitive navigation. The left side button navigates to the left within the current menu(Sub Menus), and the right side button navigates to the right.
- Lower Buttons: The two lower buttons allow you to select options within the submenus. The left lower button selects the left option, and the right lower button selects the right option.
Precise Motion Control: Increments from 0.001 to 0.1mm
The SmartPendant features a high-resolution handwheel encoder. This feature allows you to manually adjust your CNC machine’s axes with ease, providing step increments from 0.001mm to 0.1mm. The handwheel’s tactile feedback ensures accurate input, making fine adjustments effortless and intuitive.
