Description
Technical Overview
The 40×40 Hex Bearing Block functions as a specialized rotating shaft support component designed specifically for 40 Series aluminium extrusion profiles. Manufacturers construct the outer shell from a high-strength PA66+GF30 composite material. Consequently, this component offers excellent wear resistance and structural durability under dynamic loads. The internal design integrates two pre-installed 6905Z bearings alongside an aluminium shaft adapter. Therefore, the assembly achieves full 360-degree shaft rotation to deliver smooth, precise linear and rotational motion guidance.
To facilitate precise positioning during assembly, the block incorporates four integrated alignment tabs. These tabs key directly into the T-slots of the extrusion rail to prevent unwanted twisting or displacement. Furthermore, the unit features a central Ø8.5mm bearing hole engineered for a precise, stable connection with matching shafting. This specific arrangement integrates seamlessly with standard hex shafts, effectively converting static structural framing into an active mechanical guidance system. Technicians secure the entire block using the included M8×20mm cap head hardware.
Applications
Technicians deploy this bearing block across a wide range of mobile automation frameworks, industrial transport units, and material handling systems. For example, assembly teams regularly integrate the block into the physical builds of warehouse carts, industrial trolleys, and utility scooters. It also serves as a fundamental rotary pivot in custom robotics projects and unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). Moreover, engineers utilize the block to construct dynamic conveyor systems and smooth linear motion assemblies. Because the composite housing resists surface wear, it performs optimally within CNC machine frames, factory workstations, and high-speed assembly lines. Ultimately, the component provides a standardized mechanical rotation interface for any structural build utilizing 40 Series T-slot profiles.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Fit the four alignment tabs firmly into the block housing before placing the assembly onto the 40 Series extrusion channel to guarantee true parallel alignment.
-
Verify that your drive or support rod conforms exactly to the LR-19 HEX Shaft specification to ensure an optimal interface with the integrated aluminium adapter.
-
Periodically inspect the tightness of the M8x20mm cap head mounting bolt in automated framing applications subject to continuous operational vibration.

What makes T-Slots such an easy assembly task?
Building frames out of T-Slot extrusions is easy because they eliminate the need for specialised tools or welding, simplifying the assembly process. Building frames using T-Slot Linear Rail will require;
- 40 Series T-Slot Extrusions: These are the main structural components, usually made of aluminium, with slots along their lengths that allow you to easily connect various parts and accessories.
- 40 Series Brackets and Connectors: These are specialised components designed to fit into the T-Slot extrusions and secure them together at various angles. They include corner brackets, T-nuts, L-shaped brackets, and other connectors.
- Fasteners: Bolts, screws, and nuts are required to attach the brackets and connectors to the T-Slot extrusions securely.
- Tools: Basic hand tools like wrenches, Allen keys (hex keys), and screwdrivers are necessary for assembly. Additionally, a saw may be needed to cut the T-Slot extrusions to your desired lengths.
