Description
Technical Overview
The Rubber Tread Strip – 20 Series provides an anti-slip, ribbed rubber surface. This insert snaps directly into the channels of 20mm x 20mm aluminium extrusion profiles. Thanks to its flexible backing, the strip presses snugly into a 6mm slot. Consequently, it ensures reliable retention without mechanical fasteners or chemical adhesives. Furthermore, this component integrates seamlessly into V-Slot and T-Slot modular framing systems. As a result, it delivers robust protection and enhanced grip across structural surfaces.
Applications
Operators primarily use this rubber tread strip to create secure, non-slip surfaces. It fits perfectly on steps, platforms, walkways, and ramps built from modular aluminium extrusions. Therefore, it works exceptionally well for light industrial machinery, custom workbenches, and automation framing. In these settings, it guarantees stable footing for users.
In addition, the strip serves a protective function in mechanical assemblies. It actively shields the underlying aluminium profiles from surface wear, impacts, and scratches. Meanwhile, it also offers a cushioned contact point for extra durability.
The product is sold by metre. For instance, if your order quantity is 3, you will receive 1 x 3-metre length (Continuous).

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Clean the aluminium extrusion channels thoroughly to remove any manufacturing oils or debris prior to installation.
-
Press the flexible key backing firmly into the slot starting from one end, using a soft-faced mallet if necessary to ensure it seats evenly.
-
Cut the rubber strip slightly longer than required using sharp shears, as the material can experience minimal contraction over time.

What makes V-Slots such an easy assembly task?
Building frames out of V-Slot extrusions is easy because they eliminate the need for specialized tools or welding, simplifying the assembly process. Building frames using V-Slot Linear Rail will require;
- 20 Series V-Slot Extrusions: These are the main structural components, usually made of aluminium, with slots along their lengths that allow you to easily connect various parts and accessories.
- 20 Series Brackets and Connectors: These are specialized components designed to fit into the V-Slot extrusions and secure them together at various angles. They include corner brackets, T-nuts, L-shaped brackets, and other connectors.
- Fasteners: Bolts, screws, and nuts are required to attach the brackets and connectors to the V-Slot extrusions securely.
- Tools: Basic hand tools like wrenches, Allen keys (hex keys), and screwdrivers are necessary for assembly. Additionally, a saw may be needed to cut the V-Slot extrusions to your desired lengths.
