Description
Technical Overview
This hardware component actively provides a quick-latching solution for lightweight doors and removable panels within structural framing setups. To ensure high mechanical durability and resistance to wear, the manufacturing process implements a robust fibreglass-reinforced nylon construction for the body structure. Consequently, this specific material matrix directly delivers excellent corrosion resistance across diverse operating environments. Furthermore, the unit integrates a permanent magnet that interacts with a corresponding steel strike plate or profile surface. This magnetic pairing establishes a secure hold whenever you close the panel. In addition to these features, the compact housing seamlessly mounts inside the channel of standard 40 Series T-slot aluminium extrusion systems. Therefore, this layout enables clean, tool-free door closure without adding significant bulk or weight to your modular assemblies.
Applications
Technical builders and enclosure designers widely deploy this magnetic catch to secure lightweight plastic panel doors, access hatches, and safety guarding panels. For example, engineers regularly integrate this component into 3D printer enclosures, CNC machine workstations, and automated equipment housings. In these specific environments, operators require frequent and rapid access throughout the working day. Additionally, the design explicitly aligns with 40 Series T-slot profiles to match standard structural layouts. Because of this exact sizing, operators can mount the unit directly to the frame slot using standard T-nuts and screws. This mounting method creates a clean, flush-fitting alignment between the door and the structural frame. However, technicians must note that this hardware system does not fit smaller 20 Series extrusion systems. Consequently, those smaller profiles require entirely different hardware variants to function properly.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Pair the catch with a suitable steel button head screw or dedicated striking plate on the door panel to ensure an optimal magnetic holding path.
-
Do not over-tighten the mounting fasteners into the nylon housing to prevent stripping or cracking the reinforced mounting flanges.
-
Periodically wipe the magnetic surface clean of metallic dust or workshop debris to maintain maximum holding force over long-term use.
What makes T-Slots such an easy assembly task?
Building frames out of T-Slot extrusions is easy because they eliminate the need for specialized tools or welding, simplifying the assembly process. Building frames using T-Slot Linear Rail will require;
- 40 Series T-Slot Extrusions: These are the main structural components, usually made of aluminium, with slots along their lengths that allow you to easily connect various parts and accessories.
- 40 Series Brackets and Connectors: These are specialized components designed to fit into the T-Slot extrusions and secure them together at various angles. They include corner brackets, T-nuts, L-shaped brackets, and other connectors.
- Fasteners: Bolts, screws, and nuts are required to attach the brackets and connectors to the T-Slot extrusions securely.
- Tools: Basic hand tools like wrenches, Allen keys (hex keys), and screwdrivers are necessary for assembly. You can easily cut the T-Slot extrusion to size using a saw.
