Description
Technical Overview
Engineers deploy the Pivot Joint V2 to achieve smooth and flexible rotation within structural frameworks. For instance, two injection-moulded Polyamide 66 halves form the core assembly. This specific material incorporates a 30% glass fibre reinforcement. Consequently, the component delivers high strength and impact resistance in demanding mechanical environments. Furthermore, an integrated 628RS bearing system drives the assembly’s core movement. This specialized hardware connects directly into 40mm Series T-slot profiles. Ultimately, the mechanism allows for a 45-degree range of adjustable motion. It fastens directly onto the end of an extrusion, so it functions as a reliable pivot point. As a result, users easily build dynamic structures or adjustable angled supports within a larger modular assembly.
Applications
Industrial builders select the Pivot Joint V2 to construct adjustable and dynamic connections within modular structural frameworks. Specifically, the unit excels in setups requiring controlled, 45-degree angular movement. For example, technical teams install it in adjustable machine guarding and custom workstation enclosures. It also optimizes material handling fixtures and robotic test frames. Additionally, builders typically pair this joint with 40 Series T-Slot aluminum profiles. The lightweight component provides a sturdy articulating connection for high-demand setups. Consequently, it improves automation equipment, custom enclosures, and prototypes. Finally, the system ensures consistent alignment and maintains smooth mechanical rotation across all operations.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Ensure the center hole at the end of the 40mm aluminum extrusion is correctly tapped to M8 before assembly.
-
When connecting two profiles together sequentially, ensure both mating profile ends are tapped for secure fastening.
-
Verify that the alignment tabs seat completely into the profile’s T-slots during positioning to maintain parallel joint orientation.
-
Check for smooth, unhindered 45° articulation before executing the final torque sequence on the mounting fasteners.

What makes T-Slots such an easy assembly task?
Building frames out of T-Slot extrusions is easy because they eliminate the need for specialised tools or welding, simplifying the assembly process. Building frames using T-Slot Linear Rail will require;
- 40 Series T-Slot Extrusions: These are the main structural components, usually made of aluminium, with slots along their lengths that allow you to easily connect various parts and accessories.
- 40 Series Brackets and Connectors: These are specialised components designed to fit into the T-Slot extrusions and secure them together at various angles. They include corner brackets, T-nuts, L-shaped brackets, and other connectors.
- Fasteners: Bolts, screws, and nuts are required to attach the brackets and connectors to the T-Slot extrusions securely.
- Tools: Basic hand tools like wrenches, Allen keys (hex keys), and screwdrivers are necessary for assembly. Additionally, a saw may be needed to cut the T-Slot extrusions to your desired lengths.
