Description
Technical Overview
The 40 Series – Anchor Fastener, M8, features a die-cast zinc, zinc-plated construction that actively establishes high-strength, internal 90° connections within T-slot aluminium extrusion systems. Because engineers developed this component specifically for 40 Series profiles, it effectively provides a flush, self-aligning joint. Consequently, this internal design completely eliminates the need for bulky external corner brackets or gussets.
To achieve this seamless alignment, the fastener securely interlocks directly into the profile’s T-slot. As a result, it delivers a mechanically secure and aesthetically clean solution for structural framing applications. Furthermore, the specialized design ensures that the connection remains entirely rigid and correctly positioned within the extrusion channel throughout the assembly process.
Applications
Builders and engineers primarily utilize the 40 Series – Anchor Fastener, M8, when constructing industrial automation frameworks, CNC machine frames, and heavy-duty workstations. For this reason, the component serves as a standard choice for robust structural builds that require internal connections. By utilizing an internal footprint, it ensures that hardware never interferes with external panels, guarding, or clean aesthetic surfaces.
In addition to these frameworks, typical use cases include the straightforward assembly of custom enclosures, laboratory structures, and modular assembly lines. Ultimately, this component yields the most reliable results whenever a system requires a high-strength, perpendicular joint between two intersecting 40 Series T-slot profiles.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Ensure the profile end is cut square and deburred before inserting the anchor fastener to achieve a flush 90° joint.
-
The fastener should be fully seated in the T-slot before tightening to prevent binding or misalignment.
-
For high-vibration environments, periodically inspect the fastener tension to ensure structural integrity.
- To install the joint, drill a counterbored hole (19.5mm diameter, 16mm deep) in the first extrusion bar’s slot and loosely attach the anchor cam, bolt, and T-nut assembly. Next, slide the second perpendicular bar onto the T-nut and tighten the bolt with a wrench to lock both profiles firmly together.

What makes T-Slots such an easy assembly task?
Building frames out of T-Slot extrusions is easy because they eliminate the need for specialised tools or welding, simplifying the assembly process. Building frames using T-Slot Linear Rail will require;
- 40 Series T-Slot Extrusions: These are the main structural components, usually made of aluminium, with slots along their lengths that allow you to easily connect various parts and accessories.
- 40 Series Brackets and Connectors: These are specialised components designed to fit into the T-Slot extrusions and secure them together at various angles. They include corner brackets, T-nuts, L-shaped brackets, and other connectors.
- Fasteners: Bolts, screws, and nuts are required to attach the brackets and connectors to the T-Slot extrusions securely.
- Tools: Basic hand tools like wrenches, Allen keys (hex keys), and screwdrivers are necessary for assembly. Additionally, a saw may be needed to cut the T-Slot extrusions to your desired lengths.
