What is a NodeMCU Esp8266 + Breakout Board Kit?
NodeMCU is an open-source development board and firmware based on the widely used ESP-12E Wi-Fi module. Notably, it allows you to program the ESP-12E Wi-Fi module with ease using the simple and powerful LUA programming language or Arduino IDE.
By using just a few lines of code, you can easily establish a Wi-Fi connection and define input/output pins on your ESP-12E, similar to how you would with an Arduino. This effectively turns your ESP-12E into a web server, providing you with a lot more functionalities. In fact, it is the Wi-Fi equivalent of an ethernet module, which gives you access to a true Internet of Things (IoT) tool.
The NodeMCU Dev board comes with a USB-TTL interface which allows for direct flashing from a USB port. This board is a combination of a microcontroller and WIFI access point and station, making it an extremely powerful tool for Wi-Fi networking. It can function as an access point or a station, host a webserver, or connect to the internet to fetch or upload data.
Features:
If you’re looking for a microcontroller that delivers exceptional value for money, the NodeMCU development board is an outstanding option. Despite its small size and affordable price, it boasts an impressive array of features that will help you take your projects to the next level.
- Programable Wi-Fi module.
- Arduino-like (software defined) hardware IO.
- Can be programmed with the simple and powerful Lua programming language or Arduino IDE.
