Description
Technical Overview
The double tee nut is designed to securely fasten components onto aluminum extrusion profiles, such as V-Slot or T-Slot rails. It functions as two standard tee nuts placed side-by-side, providing double the holding power and stabilization for heavy-duty connections. This component slides into the open channel of an extrusion profile, offering two secure mounting points to distribute structural loads evenly across the assembly.
Applications
Double tee nuts are primarily utilized in heavy-duty mechanical assemblies, including 3D printer builds, CNC machines, and custom workstations. They are frequently used to bridge and join two pieces of aluminum extrusion flush against one another, effectively connecting rails end-to-end.
By utilizing two mounting points, they provide high shear and torque resistance for joints requiring extra holding strength. When installed with flush set screws, they maintain an unobstructed channel profile, which allows gantry plates and linear wheels to roll smoothly along the track without obstruction. Additionally, they can be slid into the open slot from the ends of the extrusion or dropped directly into the track during or after assembly for flexible positioning.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Use low-profile set screws if your application requires gantry wheels or plates to clear the extrusion channel unhindered.
-
When connecting rails end-to-end, ensure both extrusion pieces are perfectly squared and aligned before fully tightening the fasteners.
-
For post-assembly additions, the nut can be dropped directly into the slot channel, though sliding from the rail ends is recommended for optimal initial positioning.
