A great way to get you started with CNC routing is with a set of starter end mills and router bits. This set of 10 high-quality end mills provided in different configurations has been specifically selected for beginners as well as experienced individuals looking to do general-purpose milling and carving. These Carbide end mills come with either a 3.175mm or 6mm shank and come with a range of cutter profiles to suit a varied range of applications.

Knowing your end mills is key to efficient CNC routing and getting an excellent finish on your job. The different end mills in this pack yield different results as outlined below.
Know Your End Mills
- Up-cut bits eject the debris upwards and give you a good bottom finish.
- Compression end mills give you a good top and bottom finish. These are typically used in machining plywood and laminates
- Straight-cut or straight flute end mills are typically used in slot machining.
End Mill Terminologies
- CEL – Cutting edge length. This is the overall length of the cutting blade on your end mill.
- CED – Cutting edge diameter: This is the diameter of your cutting edge on your end mill.
- OVL – Overall Length: This is the overall length of your end mill.
- SHK – Shank Diameter: This is the end mill shaft that is secured by the collet. Please ensure that you select the correct collect size for your end mill.
- Flutes – The quantity of cutting blades. A 2 flute end mill will have 2 cutting blades.

Tips and Tricks
- Initially, set slow feed rates and work your way up to a comfortable speed suitable for your machine.
- Use an air compressor or vacuum to expel the chips or dust for cleaner cuts and more efficient cutting.
Please Note
- This set contains 10 end mills and their specification is shown in the BOM above.
- Only 1 end mill in this set is capable of milling Aluminium and that is the 1 Flute 1/8″ end mill. The rest are suitable for wood, plastics, and laminates.
- Please ensure that your collet suits the bit you are using.
- Please note that results may vary depending on feed rate, machine accuracy, and spindle/router speed.
