Description
Technical Overview
The 40×80 Hex Bearing Block – 40 Series functions efficiently as a heavy-duty rotary interface component designed for 40 Series aluminium extrusion profiles. To begin with, manufacturers construct the outer shell from a high-strength PA66+GF30 glass-filled nylon composite. Because of this robust material choice, the housing resists wear and withstands substantial mechanical loads during operation. Furthermore, the internal design incorporates two integrated 6905Z bearings alongside an aluminium shaft adapter. Consequently, this precise mechanical configuration facilitates smooth, unrestricted 360-degree rotation for matching 19mm aluminium hex shafts.
During system assembly, the block offers highly versatile mounting configurations across standard structural framing layouts. For instance, technicians can mount the block directly to the end face of a 40×80mm profile. Alternatively, they can secure the housing across the profile slots or inline within a single slot. This adaptable mounting style ensures full compatibility with both 40×80mm and 40×40mm extrusion profiles. Additionally, the kit includes eight removable alignment tabs. Therefore, these tabs assist installers by aligning the block perfectly inside the extrusion channels before final fastening. Ultimately, the package includes two M8×20mm cap head bolts to complete the mechanical attachment securely.
Applications
Technicians regularly deploy the 40×80 Hex Bearing Block – 40 Series across a wide range of mobile and automated structures. Specifically, assembly teams integrate these rotary blocks into material handling systems, industrial transport carts, industrial trolleys, and mobile utility scooters. For example, the bearing assemblies provide reliable turning support for wheel axles and drive mechanisms. Furthermore, developers incorporate the blocks into robotics configurations, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and conveyor lines. Within these dynamic settings, the components ensure continuous, friction-reduced movement under repetitive operational cycles.
Moreover, builders utilize the blocks to construct rotational pivots within industrial automation frameworks and custom CNC machine frames. In these automated layouts, the housing maintains precise axial alignment for the hex shafts. Additionally, the units fit seamlessly onto industrial workstations and factory assembly lines to support rotating fixtures. Because the unit mounts across standard t-slots, it accommodates any structural build based on 40 Series t-slot aluminium extrusions. Meanwhile, the compact design allows teams to add robust rotary joints without expanding the physical footprint of the framework.

Maker Store Tips and Tricks
-
Insert the alignment tabs into the block slots before positioning it onto the extrusion to achieve precise central tracking.
-
Check that your 19mm aluminium hex shaft is free of surface burrs before sliding it through the aluminium shaft adapter to prevent damage to the internal bearing rings.
-
When mounting to 40×40mm profiles, remove the unused alignment tabs to allow the block to sit perfectly flush against the metal face.

What makes T-Slots such an easy assembly task?
Building frames out of T-Slot extrusions is easy because they eliminate the need for specialised tools or welding, simplifying the assembly process. Building frames using T-Slot Linear Rail will require;
- 40 Series T-Slot Extrusions: These are the main structural components, usually made of aluminium, with slots along their lengths that allow you to connect various parts and accessories easily.
- 40 Series Brackets and Connectors: These are specialised components designed to fit into the T-Slot extrusions and secure them together at various angles. They include corner brackets, T-nuts, L-shaped brackets, and other connectors.
- Fasteners: Bolts, screws, and nuts are required to attach the brackets and connectors to the T-Slot extrusions securely.
- Tools: Basic hand tools like wrenches, Allen keys (hex keys), and screwdrivers are necessary for assembly. Additionally, a saw may be needed to cut the T-Slot extrusions to your desired lengths.
